ReplyDeleteAll governments in the modern era are allergic to economic contraction (sometimes referred to more euphamistically as “negative growth”). In liberal democratic nations like Australia it means electoral death for the governing party.
ReplyDeleteMany predict that the world will soon experience an economic depression, brought on by a variety of factors, but most particularly Peak Oil - the lessening production of petroleum.
